Artist statement animation example

Artist's Statement:

When creating art, I am not setting out to create art about specific subjects or topics because I find inspiration during the process of creating. I may have an idea of what my final work will be but the process of working allows my ideas to evolve. My work is primarily based in technology because I enjoy how technology gives the illusion of an unreal world and allows anyone to be a part of it. Videos and animation allow the mind to travel to a different world that cannot exist in reality. I would define myself as an animator who also enjoys hands on art such as drawing and painting. As a result, my animation incorporates knowledge from all aspects of visual art. Aesthetics such as lighting, space, and color are just as important in animations. My ambition as an artist is to be constantly evolving, as art and technology also change. This way my work can be creative and unique but also relevant.
